A woman has been cut free from her car by firefighters after a crash on the A96 in Moray.

The two-vehicle accident happened four miles south of Keith just before 07:00. The woman's injuries were not believed to be serious.

The road was closed for a time but later re-opened.

Drivers travelling between Elgin and Huntly had faced a 30-mile diversion after a broken down lorry closed the initial diversion route.

Police diverted traffic through Dufftown on the B9014.

In a separate incident, two men were taken to hospital following a crash in Aberdeen.

Two cars were involved in the accident on Girdleness Road in the early hours of the morning.
